Snowbird/Alta, Utah – February 18-25, 2023

Updated: Aug 12, 2023

Snowbird/Alta are known for having the best, lightest, and most powder in the the US. Per Forbes, “The terrain at Alta and Snowbird is that against which all others are measured. This place has a lot of powder days. The snow is dependable and comes in a density that’s user friendly, like a stiff dollop of whipped milk on a cappuccino…We can’t stress enough how awesome the skiing is here”. Add to that a 4-hour non-stop flight into Salt Lake City, the short ride to the renowned Cliff Lodge, and our trip during President’s Week (thus minimizing days off work or school), and it promises to be an awesome trip.

SKIING/BOARDING:

Snowbird and Alta get 500-600 inches average snowfall. The resorts are interconnected via lift and offer a massive 5100 acres of skiing, with an accent on intermediate and advanced terrain. At Snowbird, the terrain is 27% Beginner/38% Intermediate/35% Advanced runs. SNOWBIRD Trail Map. Alta is 15% Beginner/30% Intermediate/55% Advanced runs. ALTA Trail Map. Snowboarding is welcomed at Snowbird, but not at Alta. Alta offers great Nordic skiing.

LODGING:

We stay at the Cliff Lodge and Spa, one of N. America’s most iconic ski lodges. It is perched slopeside at Snowbird, and enjoys ski-in/ski-out access, and walking distance to the pedestrian village. It houses the world-class Cliff Spa, a fitness center, heated outdoor pool and hot tubs, and dining. Whichever side you face, you will have awe-inspiring views of the mountain or canyon below.
